What's New in NetMRI 3.0?
NetMRI
3.0 takes automating network configuration, change and
compliance management to the next level. By leveraging
the subject matter expertise and built-in analysis within
NetMRI, users can understand the impact of change on
network health, ensure standardisation and compliance
is deployed successfully and do more with less by improving
staff productivity.
Release
3.0 focuses on improving time to value for our customers
by adding more pre-built expertise and policies, improving
the user experience, and understanding the impact of
change on network health and consistency with a rich,
graphical interface. A few highlights of 3.0 include:
Impact Analysis of Change Over Time
Quickly
correlate the impact of change with issues, compliance
and network health over time with a single graphical
dashboard to pinpoint hard to find problems faster and
identify trends over time. Multiple NetMRI dashboards
help focus users toward the nature of change and its
impact on health over time.
Network Explorer
The
network explorer views enable multiple users within
a single organisation to take full advantage of NetMRI
by providing the detailed view of NetMRI's rich, auto-discovered
attribute model. Information needed by different groups
ranging from engineers, network managers/architects,
executives and other members of the IT staff can be
easily accessed with packaged views and custom slicing
and dicing of the data.
Extensive Topology Visualisation
With
complex networks, the new topology visualisation capability
graphically represents the multi-dimensional relationships
within your network, with the ability to overlay status
indicators such as change, issues and policy violations
to quickly see how a change on one device is impacting
network health of network neighbors.
Role-based Access by Device Group
Since
different staff within an organisation have different
needs and expertise, the new role-based access with
NetMRI 3.0 provides the ability to assign different
levels of access to different people. This feature will
reduce the risk of degradation and downtime by eliminating
the need to give admin rights to all staff.
Multi-Level Job Management
Safely
operationalise change management to more users by providing
controlled access to various change functions depending
on user role, schedule jobs during maintenance windows,
and enforce peer review while allowing users to propose
more complicated changes for approval prior to execution.
Built-in Subject Matter Expertise and Device Support
NetMRI
has a long history of built-in analysis and subject
matter expertise out of the box and 3.0 greatly increases
the number of pre-defined rules and supported devices
to improve time to value for users.
Policy Design Center
For
standardisation and compliance requirements, the Policy
Design Center leverages pre-built rules and policies
with a new policy wizard to build custom standards more
easily across the entire network, all leveraging NetMRIs
new and more powerful policy analysis engine. Users
can extend the pre-packaged rules, or capture completely
custom requirements that apply conditional analysis
logic to meet the realities of diverse environments,
without the need for complex scripting.
SNMPv3 and IPv6 Support
NetMRI
adds support for technologies using SNMPv3 and IPv6
standards.
API
For
custom integration and reporting needs, the API allows
you to access all of the rich NetMRI information.
